Experiences at the Winery
The hospitality experience at La Guardiense is guided by the intention to bring together landscape, culture and conviviality, creating an encounter that is far from conventional and able to inspire curiosity and the desire to explore both the territory and the company’s history.
The combination of a guided tour of the winery and the tasting of traditional dishes together with our range of still and sparkling wines allows visitors to appreciate and understand the typical features and uniqueness of La Guardiense wines.

Visiting our winery means discovering the work of our members up close, getting to know one of the largest and most historic cooperatives in Italy, and breathing the atmosphere of the places where our wines are created.

The Legend
According to the popular traditions of Sannio, the Janare were followers of Diana, the goddess on whose forehead the crescent moon symbolised the deep connection between the night star and the ancient cults. She was the lunar deity and protector of nocturnal incantations, wild nature, agriculture and women.
Diana is accompanied by the sacred walnut tree, symbol of the magic that has always pervaded these lands and of the myths whose legacy today is the awareness of their value.
By legend, the Janare were the women of Sannio, so indomitable as to become witches, whose rituals were inseparably linked to the natural cycles.
The Janare project by La Guardiense represents a challenge in the experimentation of agronomic techniques aimed at promoting the main grape varieties of the territory, in particular Falanghina and Aglianico.
The Janare wines are an invitation to discover an authentic tradition of Sannio — a heritage to be preserved and handed down.
